Thread: Vendor initializing issues

Hey all,

Just placed my first vendor last night, and I'm having some issues with initializing my Robo-bartender type merchant. I did a search to see if there were any recent issues with vendor initializing, and the most recent thread was approximately 8/18/03, so I assumed that this issue was corrected since then. Given that, I'm seeking some assistance in resolving my problem. Here goes:

I create the vendor from the structure management tool in my home (which was once private, however was switched to public to add the vendor, as I was prompted).

Once the vendor is named, et al, it gets placed into my inven, which I then drop on the ground.

I deposit some creds into the maintenance pool just for, and then (on the radial menu) I click to initialize. I receive conformation of the initialization (at this point the options to move/rotate the vendor are gone). I click on "Use Vendor" in the radial menu/double click on the vendor itself, and I receive the message that the vendor is not initialized. Checking the other options in the radial menu, I find no way to place items on the vendor (if that's what must happen next) or to re-initialize the vendor.

The vendor is placed in a small Tatooine house, and there are furniture/items on the floor (for the theme) nearby, in the event this is somehow relevant.

Would appreciate any assistance or links to assistance if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Had that problem about a month ago at my first house on Naboo. Tried to place the vendor, at least 3 times. It was a NO-GO.
My solution was simple actually. I moved the house about 30 meters and then tried again, guess what I worked.

Just so that you remember though empty your vendor if you placed anything on it. I can't Remember if you can stock it before its initialized.

To put items on, you "USE Vendor"

I had this problem a few days ago. I dropped the vendor. Paid the maintenance fees then intialized it. Continue Intializing it until it doesn't show up on the radial. Now type /rotate right 180.
Right can be left, the number its the degree of rotation. I had to rotate it twice. then it worked.

This problem has happened with many people. It happened to me, and I was getting really frustrated. I looked for answers on this forum, and found at leat 2 threads with many complaints about this, and also many solutions offered as a fix for it.

I tried many of those solutions. Rotating the vendor was one of them. It didn't work for me. The ONLY thing that worked for me was:

1. Drop the vendor.

2. Go to the Vendor control menu and INITIALIZE it.

3. IMMEDIATELY - AS FAST AS YOU CAN DO IT - Open the control menu and INITIALIZE it again! You will find that you can do this, for the Initialize option is still there.

4. Now go and USE vendor. If you've done it fast enough, the vendor will be usable. If you didn't, the vendor will tell you it still hadn't been initialized. If this happens to you, DESTROY it, create a new one, and start all over.

You will get it done EVENTUALLY. But that's the only thing that's worked for me. Do not bother putting maintenance into the vendor until you've succeeded in initializing it.

Good luck .

PS: The reason I left out any rotating of the vendor is because even after you've initialized it, you can still rotate it, using the command /rotatefurniture right/left degrees.
