What can you say to those that are obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer when they ask for: "i'd like a sporty 2 seat convertible in a real eye-catching two toned color with tinted windows all around. and can you make the seats white? if not then black will be ok if thats my only choice. but, i definately want the brightest headlights that you can use cause it gets so dark sometimes. how soon can i pick it up?

huh?? you want what??? (i just gave them the name of a MA in Coronet in hopes that they get lost and can't find their way back to my shop)

Greetings,

Short answer:
Stay calm. Resist urge to club them on head with a nemodian bird cage. Tell them you can’t make a vehicle like that.

Long answer:
Many players don’t take the time to read the patch notes fully (or at all), let alone pick through the message boards ahead of time so they can get an idea of what is about to land in their lap. Rather than shrug them off as a lost cause, do your best to educate them on what they’re clearly mistaken about - there’s a good chance it will stick, and make that person a less annoying player to group with, talk to, and in general be around. You’re doing yourself and everyone else a favor when you stop him from spamming in Theed for his no-existent hotrod all day. Something along these lines would work wonders (I don’t know what you can really customize on a vehicle, haven’t been able to get to test lately):

“Whoa there. I’m afraid I can’t quite customize a vehicle like that. The only thing I can change is the [outside color] and [inside color], both of which can come in shades of [black], [gray], [blue], or [red]. Sorry I can’t make you a corvette, but I bet a nice Landspeeder would be a good start.”

The stuff in the brackets, of course, I just made up, so stick whatever is the truth in there (even if you have to tell him you can’t customize them at all). Even if he doesn’t buy a vehicle from you, he’ll walk away more informed and a better player. Give people the benefit of the doubt - most of them deserve it.

ooor, just tell him/her it will cost them 10 meeeelllion credits alone to buy all the resources needed to create such a vehicle and that it will take you 9-10 months to make all the parts needed. At which point SWG just might make a patch that gives you the options he/she is looking for.

My response: "How about a nice tall glass of shut the h#ll up."

But my character is a very gruff Trandoshian with little people skills but a good crafter.

Are you sure he was serious? Sounds like a joke to me.
