Ok, as the title states I'm a total crafting newb and have recently decided to take up doctor on tc.Now that I'vereached master doc I'm finding it very hard to find buffpacks or the res to make them so I've decided to collect them myself. The problem is I can't seem to find the liquid petro chem 4. I've sent survey droids out and have found what planets it's located on but I can't seem to get it to show up on my chem survey device. Am I missing something?

So long as you're on a planet which has liquid petrochem 4 it would show up on the chemical survey tool on the resource list on the right. If there is none in your immediate area (aka the staport or wherever you're surveying from) when you do the survey, the window to the left will remain blank other than the terrain. Thus you will need to move in any direction and survey again in order to find a deposit of the resource you're looking for. Once you have found a deposit of the specified resource you will see % numbers showing in the left window of the survey tool which indicates the density of the deposit. If you follow the waypoint, or follow the higher numbers on the survey tool window and survey again it may show you that the field increases in density further on and you can leapfrog to the highest density location and extract the liquid petrochem 4 from there.
Two items of note arethat before you will get the survey window, you have toset the range on your chemical survey tool from its radial menu, and you also may want to note that solid petrochem resources are found through the mineral survey tool and that liquid petrochem should show up on the chemical survey tool.

It would be good that one thing is clarified here. If the resource is not showing up on any planet at all, it might not be in shift. These resources shift every week, on average. You might have to wait a number of days or weeks before this is available on your server.

A good way to locate what planets the resouces you need is www.swgcraft.com. They have a current resource listing that will tell you what resouces players are reporting have spawned and on what planet. However, it will not tell you where on the planet to find the resources.
