Thread: Harvesting Top Notch Resources

use swgcraft to find out what the currently spawning resources are used in.

Things like T21's, Composites, Brandy etc... are used by everyone and there is always a demand for high quality in those resources. Each different profession looks for different stats in their resource so even if two profs use the same type of resource one spawn may not be as good for one vs the other.

For example CM vs Doc vs Chef they all use organics and have many overlaps on what can be used. However Docs look primarily for OQ/PE, while CM's look for OQ/DR/PE and chefs look for OQ/FL/DR.

so you want to find resources that fit for specific items for a specific profession. The more specific the item is required for a high end crafted item the harder it is to come by good stock. Also things like ORE which Architects use or Gemstones for Chefs you don't need to worry about finding quality as the quality for these two items in these profs are mainly pointless. For Architects 90% of the ore they use the quality won't matter, only when it's used in the harvestors will it make any difference same with Steel and generic metals for an Architect. For Chefs they use Vertex Gemstone in making containers(ie casks etc...) and they have no quality rating so low quality works just as well as high quality gems in this case. So for the most part ORE and Gemstone are not items you will want to harvest for those two profs. However Armorsmiths and Weaponsmiths use Vertex and Amorphous gemstones so you'll want to pay attention to good spawns with those two profs in mind.

Basically the key is knowing what a profession needs to be successful. The easiest way to determine this is to see what everyone is using. Nearly everyone in the game uses Composite armor, and there are a variety of weapons used(T21, Jawa, Stun baton, PowerHammer, Vibro Knucklers, Flamethrowers, etc...). You get the point. Focus on what people use then do a little research on what materials are needed for that. Composites use Colat Iron, Solid Petro, Crism Siliclastic Ore, Kiirium Steel, etc... Just to name a few of the key resources for Armorsmiths(who by the way currently tend to have the most money to spend on resources making them one of themore profitable to gather for). For Armorsmiths you will want to pay attention to OQ/SR/MA. OQ/SR determine the effectiveness of their armor, while OQ/MA determine the Encumberance.

So in short in order to be a truely successful resource supplier you have to become knowledgable in what your customers need and want. Another key is to not sell right away and hold on to the good resources until they are worth more. Don't spread yourself too thin. There are often times when several really good spawns hit at one time, concentrate on only harvesting one or two of those resources depending on the number of harvestors/lots you have access to. You are much better off picking the best spawn and say harvesting 1million units of it vs only harvesting like 100k units of 10 different good spawns. Once you find several regular buyers be sure to harvest the types of resource they need when a good spawn hits.

Hope this helps some.

Quadoesaiine, Ditanium Steel (Entered By BravadoMan / Verified by AmazingSuccess)
CR=465, CD=457, DR=811, HR=852, MA=282, OQ=916, SR=832, UT=799 *

That's a current shift on eclipse for t21's. That has high OQ but crappy CD so its not worth it, right?

Hi everyone, recently I find myself looking for something to do in this game! I decided that I'd take up mining and selling resources... only one problem, I can't find resources that sell for good money. I use swgcraft.com, but still can't really decide/figure out which onesI should pick up. If anyone could give me some tips that you use, that'd be appreciated.

Try watching your trade forum too. You can see crafters and other professions look for specific resources. this can also give you an idea of what they need.

It would be crappy CD for copper, but it's great for ditanium. Swgcraft shows that this ditanium has the second highest CD ever to spawn on Eclipse, and is the best overall ditanium for combined CD/OQ. So jump on it.
