Thread: email from harvestors

ok,
So I am just asking a simple request.
send me an email when resources shift.
how simple can that be?
and if it's already there how do I get my harvestors to send me this email?
right now, the only way I know of a resouce shift is when I go to collect, and the harvestor is off.
any one know?>

Write down the name of the resource your harvester is bringing up. I use /notepad for that, when you land on the planet, open up the survey tool and check to see if the resources is still there, if it is then youre still collecting it.

yep that's what I have started doing, every time I log in now I check....
but it's a pain, harvestors send emails when the maintance id to low, why can't they send an email when it is turned off.

There was a post about this before and remember someone saying something about harvesters not being "real." Basically a harvestor becomes real when you get near it, then math calculations are made and determines how much you've harvested, powe, maint, etc.So Im guessing the system would not be able to tell you since the harvester does not exist. But then again, like you said, we get mail about low maint so who knows. All this info was from another post, so don't quote me on this stuff as being 100% accurate, blame the other guy who wrote it

hehe, no problem, I just found it odd, but then again everyone would start complaining about getting an email when they turned off their own harvester.

hehe, oh well, one of the quirks of the game.

The poster is right, Harvesters don't exist till you actually get close to them... the thing is... this is not rocket science.. the system knows in advance how long the resource will last.. All it has to do is que a pre-determined email to you delayed until the shift date for the resourceyou selected in the change resources. It can delete the emailif you take the harvester down orchange the resource and date to send as you change the resource in the hopper. If you look at it as the harv pulls out a tablet and a chizel and makes you an email telling youthat its out then yes the harv doesn't exist and can't be done. But the system that controls resource shifts are always there and working. just tie the two togather. Just some random dagget thinking.
