Bone chest plates give like ~600xp each, (eng IV) for speed to get it done they are best. But they are pretty rescource heavy - I think one of the powerup schematics is your best bet for efficency.

For surveying, it just takes time, make sure to get you character surveying and then start crafting, or get some macro

Survey Tools to Engineering III

Personal Harvesters from then on.

Survey while you craft or leave a survey Macro running while you sleep.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Once you have Engineering 4, what to grind for Novice Architect/Armorsmith/Droid Engineer/Weaponsmith?

Just a couple of quick ones:

1. Do you get the same crafting xp per item using a factory as you would using a crafting tool/macro to make them one at a time? If you don't, which method generates more xp per item?

2. How much more xp per item do you receive in practice mode vs. actaully making a prototype?

Thanks for the help,

Grib

XP directly depends on how much ressource is needed for crafting your item. Nearly all items gives a 2XP for 1 ressource unit. Seems that in the beta, some powerups gives 4 for 1 but don't know if it still going in the final.

In pratice mode, you'll get 5% more XP.

To add to that I do not think that you get any crafting xp from using a factory. So crafting by hand is best way to go.

wow? there is some bad info up in here?

hey man. the best way to gain XP fast is to experiment for hours on the crafting stations. buddy up with a scout and have him give you hide for echange for weapon power ups and stuff. i have been tweaking bone armor for over 2 days now and have been getting about 3000 xp a night doing it. its real easy and very fun. there really is no need to open mines untill you branch off from master art. you really need to gain as much resourse variaty that you can. mine for everything on your lists so that you can experiment with the materials on the crafting stations. you will find that you may need to craft bone armore boots something like 20 times. to get it just the way you want it. this in itself will give you mass xp. but you will need a scout to help you out with the hide and bones that you will need.

With the new vehicle stuff coming I decided to get my artisan skills back-up, also I have been collecting resources for some time as a way of earning some extra creds.

I had enough xp to get engi I again and halfway to two, I then ground out crafting tools to get to Engineering III, I then had enough metal and some ore to start making Wind Generators... wow.XP flows in at a rate of knots and is useful!!! great stuff.

Wind Survey device has and always will give the best XP/resource unit. You can grind these alone (no "Scout buddy" needed). Im at work ATM so i dont have all my old Artisan Grinding info here and that grind was a long time ago,but i think i made b/w 700 and 800 wind survey devices. The surveying xp is easy, find a good concentration and run sampling macro, read a book, come back start grinding macro, eat food, come back start samping macro, etc etc.

The hard part is being patient while you stand in front of the starport trying to train people for the apprentice xp.
