Anyone know where I can find a sampling macro to run at night?

you need to know the rate at which your character recharges. but i have used this one many times. a little advice, get up before server reset and logout. just to avoid any possible problems. I get up for work at 530am est, so that is 1.5 hrs before server reset. i know some people who run two macros, one for the sampling and another that is likea 25,000 second pause and then /quit. that gets them through the night and logs out. just your own preference. anyway,

/stand;

/pause 5;

/sample;

/pause 60;

/sit;

pause 10;

/ui actionSlot00

You may want to consult with someone else concerning the last line. if you put your macro in the F1 slot in the toolbar, that command will execute it. I can't remember is that is the correct spelling and case. These things are persnikery so you'll have to just test it out. you need the sits and stands in there to beat the survey events that pop up randomly. they wont close, but you will get around them when you sit and stand like that. give it a go and watch here for anyone else who corrects me, it may be just slightly off.

Thanks man. So can you get in trouble for macroing? Is that why you need to logout? Where do I add the logout line? Thanks again

A menu just popped up on me. I assume this is used to prevent macroing. It's the one that says you hear a beep, do you want to continue to do what your doing or attempt to recover. No way around this I assume?

/stand;
/pause 5;
/sample;
/pause 60;
/sit;
pause 10;

but

"/ui actionSlot00"

should be

"/ui action toolbarSlot00"

i think...

basically make this macro and drag it into the first slow on your toolbar.. (under F1)..

they're numbered from 0 to 11 across the top, and 12 to 23 along the bottom (if you have it showing two rows)..

this should loop round..

also create a macro "/dump" and use it to effectively stop the macro..

You also tend to "migrate" when you stand up and sit down overnight - can be dangerous - so I recommend finding a nice corner of a player-city bank to prop yourself on, or a back corner edge of your guild hall. If you prop yourself on something flat (i.e. your house) and not face-first into a corner, eventually you'll wiggle out and start gallavanting around the countryside, quite possibly running into something extremely nasty.

Is there a one star ninja attacking this thread because they think we're morons for not wanting to type /sample and proceed to stare at the screen for 12 hours?

Sampling is probably one of the best things to use a macro for...I mean really....how immersive is it to sit and watch your toon do something automatically...

I migrated! I don't trust the macro if I'm out in the wild and looking at all those red arrows that are dangerously close.

This is the macro I use:

/stand; /pause 10;

/sample; /pause 5;

/sit; /pause 30;

/ui action toolbarSlotXX;

Just click through the popup windows when you get back to the keyboard.

Oh, if anyone has a macro for crafting, please let me know.
