Humans get a+10 or +15 (I forgot which) crafting bonus.How big a difference does this make? What does it modify? Crafting speed? Product quality? Chances of critical failure? I'm pretty uneducated about crafting, but would like to start a weaponmith/smugglerandam trying to decide on a species. Any information or opinions are greatly appreciated.--Gutnug

it effects chance for critical failure, and critical successes.
its only a 15% (+15) increase as well.
with skill tapes you can bring this to a 40% (+40) increase.
Also, its been reported that with a really high modifier,
you end up with a lot more 3-stat powerups than normal.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunitly, I just heard on another board that the crafting bonus for humans is only for artisan stuff and doesn't carry over to weapons crafting.

you end up with a lot more 3-stat powerups than normal.

Me too.
BTW, to have 4 stat power up, you need to have a failure somewhere in the process.

Humans artisans have got it easy when crafting artisan items. The bonus makes it Very hard to fail during the crafting process beyond the usual failure rates. I routinely experiment on multiple stats during the crafting process all at once and rarely ever fail. It is very hard to get that difficuly percentage on the right of the experiment window to show anything.
Unforunately, the bonus only applies to artisan make items. None of it carries over to other crafting professions. I've seen the different the bonus makes when I try to experiment on medical supplies or armorsmith items. It makes me have a new found appreciation for to other crafters that are able to craft exceptional items in ohter professions.

You're all crazy! Especially Gavvot...You have to have a crit failure!!?? LOL.
Sorry, don't mean to poke fun, I guess that's what these boards are for....to help others.
7 out of 10 powerups I make have a minimum of 3 modifiers, most are 4, and once in every 20 or so, I make them with 5 modifiers, and no crit Failures. Any time I'm making powerups, as soon as I get one failure I scrap the process. And by the way, I'm a Mon Calamari with Master Artisan and no types of bonuses at all.
What's the secret? (and here goes all my business) Don't scimp on the OQ of the resources you use, and never experiment more then one box at a time, that's all there is to it.
Just say No to failures.

I appreciate all your input. I think I'm going with a rodian, though. Their bonus is specifically for weapons.
