Thread: starting class needing elite class item?!?
I've been curious, is this a required or optional component? There's other schematics that have the DSC as an optional component, and I had assumed that this would be the same.
If it's not, there's a couple of reasons for it. First, it gives DEs something to sell that will be in demand and that they can provide fairly simply. Secondly, it actually makes sense that an elite crafting profession might create complex items that can then be used in other items by other professions.
As far as why it's a *droid* storage compartment... well, I've always thought the name was a misnomer and it should just be Storage Compartment. After all, a customization kit would need a place for the paint and other items you'd use painting your vehicle, right?
I don't see this as being a really big deal, personally. I'll just get my friendly neighborhood DE to make me a bunch of DSCs and go to town.

They probably should be only called storage compartments, becuase these ones arn't the onesthat fit in droids.
Mainly though becuase of the Droid Customization Kit has required them for a long time, so now they can't make new customization kits without them. Although they can further justify it becuase Droid Engineers require more from Master Artisans than all of the other Elite Crafting proffessions combined.
the droid storage compartment is the same in the droid customization kit....there are other storage compartments too ....in architect
p.s. the droid customization kit is used to paint droids
I think it is so they didnt have to create a new schematic.
It is a little bit screwed up when a paint job is more complex than the vehicle it is painting!!! I wouldnt mind so much if the Vehicle had the dependancies, and components but the customizatin tool was simple.
