I recently found a nice concentration of a resource with excellent stats, but i cant place a harvester anywhere near it because it is inside the rebel base on corellia. As I am currently hand sampling, I thought wouldn't it be great if there was a droid that would harvest for you, so I dont have to waste my entire buff cycle here pulling what I need. Said droid could have a maximum capacity of 500 units and you would just place it, set it and leave to do your killing, etc. BER, storage, lifespan, etc could be adjusted, but the concept would be worth consideration IMO. Maybe one with a limited number of uses, so the DE's can make some money too. This would make it possible to harvest stuff you normally cant place a harvester due to zoning or other restrictions such as terrain, etc., and not tie up a lot for a few hours.

I actually like this idea, but the storage would have to be *much* greater if it's to be any use. I'm sure droid battery sales would go up
. It's not absolutly needed because we can get what we need anyway with enough effort, but it would be cool to play with. DEs could adjust the loadout for either high end sampleing OR high end storage of samples depending on modules. Meby make a high end survey droid that can go look for stuff *and* bring it back to you. It would have to be balanced against the harvesters of course, but it's an interesting idea.

I agree with both ideas. Athough, having a droid survey and harvest for you kinda takes the "work" out of being an Artisan. It would make things easy, maybe too easy. Also, having a low storage rate would be alright. Reason being is the driod is in its self an advantage. Having it carry a large amount of units, again, would make it too easy. I do believe it should be higher than 500 units though. Perhaps, a max of 1,000 depending on droid config.

Well, technically droids can already carry 1 million units of resources, (10 inventory spaces at 100k units each) so a larger carrying capacity wouldn't be too unreasonable. If you consider the needed components for a standard mining rig, then minaturize them, I'd guess the remaining storage space could end up beingbetween1k - 4k unitsdepending on quality of resources and wether the droid engineer puts experimentation points into storage or BER. Also, being so small, the droids couldn't possibly go higher than a personal harvester, so I think a 7 BER would be the absolute maximum, assuming all experimentation goes into extraction rate.

I mentioned an idea similar to this on the SWGCraft DE board. Since DEs can craft hunter resource harvesting droids, I agree that there should be an extractor type droid. My opinion is that it should act in a similar way to the "skinning droid" in that it should take your place extracting by hand, using your skill mods with a bonus based on the droid's modules. This will free you up to hunt/dance/die, etc.and also let you harvest radioactives safely.
