Ok heres the deal. I have been all over the galaxy looking for high end materials. My question is are they random spawns and do they only spawn certain weeks. example i have been all overt the galaxy for kamaris, i have found 4 diffrent types but no high high quality. yet i see high quality for sale. was this mined at a diffrent time or did some one travel around sampling every little bit to find. oh the name of the kamaris was Rice. plz give me any feedback on mining u have and so u know i have swgcraft i am more interested in knowing if things like Rice kamaris only spawn say once a month.

Been an Artisan since I started. Tried to figure out some pattern to resources spawning and everytime I thought I had it figured out, I was proven wrong. As far as I'm concerned, it's strictly random. There have been months without anything worth harvesting and then, almost like overnight, there's so much good stuff that you need to chose which of the high quality resources to harvest. Only if I miss out on a good spawn will I buy a high quality resources from a vendor, and only if I need them for an item that I can sell so I can offset the cost of the resource and make a profit so I can afford to live. Took me about 1 year to gather the best resources but now I have them, all 3.8 million of em, now I make the best Artisan products on the market. They sell great and life is good.

There's no pattern on when the "good" stuff spawns. Sometimes certain particular resource types rarely spawn. For example on Kettemoor, back when you could make stun layers, no stun armor was available because there had been no crism ore for like 6-8 months.

there are patterns.. espeically on different planets.. areas where to look and many others.. just cause you dont see one doesnt mean they are there...

I am by no means a great miner yet..but this site's search engineis helping me out a lot.

Punch in your server and min stats you are looking for. I often do a 900+ OQ and then sort by various other secondary stats to find good stuff to mine. Starsider is crazy right now with good Amorph Gems, Iron, Hides and amazing Tat Fiberplast. Play with it some and refine to your needs.

No guarantee that its up to date for your server, depending on the dedication of your current miners using the site. Luckily, Starsider seems to have some folks very up to snuff on the shifts, so I've been catching some good stuff right away.

Btw OQ is not the only basis you judge on whether something is good or not. For instance, Desh Copper's specific use requires UT and does not use OQ at all. So it's quite possible that there are great resources out that you just don't realize are good.

Understood that OQ is by no means the best indicator of a resource's usefulness, but how in the world are we to decipher what's good for what? Is there a guide to such things?

I started Artisan recently only because my wife ( a new player and now Droid Engineer ) couldn't find the resources she needed, and couldn't find a source for GP/memory modules on our server ( Bloodfin ). Even as a converted warrior, I'm enjoying the process so far, but the large amounts of unknowns -- coupled with my inability to find the answers -- has made for a rather bewildering experience.

And yes, I've read the FAQs. They seem to be driven more to the "how do I grind" at the moment, which isn't a bad thing, but I was hoping for more. A pleasant exception I recently discovered was the "Miner's guide" from the FAQs post, which is unfortunately buried near the bottom of the FAQs list.

Still, with any luck, I'll finally have the resources to create some GP & memory modules tonight after work. No idea if quality factors into the product ( e.g. if quality matters ), but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. If I'm not totally consumed trying to find the answer to something else, of course.

Hi After5CST, Quality doesn't matter on EMM or GP for Droid Engineers. Use grind quality resources.

And my two cents is there is no pattern to resource spawns. But I could be wrong.
