I just purchased and placed 2 personal mineral extractors and was wondering if there was a way to tell what kind of power was needed for these devices...?
I also have a wind generator and it looks like it will use the power from it, but I also purchased some solid power from the vendors that won't work. I think it was solid power.
Is there a list to tell what kind of power will work in different kinds of extractors..?
Thanks in advance.

I'm new at this too, so I also hope to get a "real" answer from an experienced Artisan. In the meantime, though, I can safely say that I use liquid Wind energy on my mineral extracters with success, but the solid energy I purchased from the bazaar is still in my inventory, mocking me on a daily basis ( I haven't figured out what to do with it yet, as it's useless in the extracters ).

All extractors (and factories) can use the same types of power resources:
Wind Energy (from wind generators).
Solar Energy (from solar generators).
radioactive (from fusion generators or mineral harvesters).
On the bazaar listings, there are "liquid power" and "solid power" categories. Wind and solar get lumped into liquid power, but so does liquid petrochem fuel (which can not be used to power harvesters). I think radioactive gets put into "solid power" (maybe there's a radioactive subcategory), but so does solid petrochem fuel (which can not be used to power harvesters).
Just so you know, the amount of "power units" you get from a stack of wind/solar/radioactive depends on the resource's Potential Energy stat. The higher the PE, the more "oomph" you get from each unit. At 500 PE or below, one unit of resource = one unit of power. So if you add 1500 units of power into a personal harvester, your inventory stack of wind/solar/radioactive will be reduced by 1500 units. If you have 750 PE radioactive, each unit of resource = 1.5 units of power. So if you add 1500 units of power into a harvester, your inventory stack will be reduced by 1000 units. One unit of 1000 PE radioactive = 2 power units, so adding 1500 power reduces your stack by 750.
In general, radioactive (especially the higher "classes") have higher PE. So Class 7 radioactive with 950 PE can be a good investment, since you can get more harvester run time than you'd get froma same-sized stack of 400 PE solar power.
And as a final note: the liquid and solid petrochem fuels are used as required resources for crafting various items, but never as harvester power.

Another thank you from another newbie. My head's going to explode from so much new information from the boards, artisan is slightly more complicated than my previous combat profession.
And I think that's about as understated as I can make it ![]()
