Each time a ressource spawn, the way it is distibuted is randomly decided so some times, the concentration will go up drastically in the same zone of 256m and sometimes the concentration will grow just a little in the same zone. It's the same thing for the zone itself. So some ressources will be spread on quite a large erea and other will be contained in a few XXXm.

I have been surveying for some resources on different planets, and haven't found any spots that went above 70% and even 60%. Im using the 256m range. Usually on Lok you find that the concentrations jump bigger gaps, i.e. like from 40% to 50% sometimes. Is this usual for the 256m? Does each range just allow you to see more of the concentrations?

Thanks to all those who reply!

There are also "caps" on the concentrations you'll be able to find of most resources. Radioactives can easily get to 90%+, most metals can easily get into the 80%s, but you will be hard-pressed to find ore over 50%.

The JtL resources don't have caps on concentrations, which is why architects love fermionic siliclastic ore... they can find 90%+ concentrations of it which they can't do with any other kind of ore.

some times resources are also just low % for a type.. like ive seen ones that shift in,.. say a phirk AL It shows up on 3 planets.. and is soo sparce your lucky to find a 70% spot you can drop 5 harvesters on.. trust me.. this just happend to me with link-steel Looked for 3 hours on 3 planets.. finally found a spot i could drop 10 harvesters on 73%

other times stuff is all over and everything is over 80.. its what makes surveying to me one of the most interesting things in the game.
