Of course, with the poor documentation for this game it doesn't say how crafting affects your stats anywhere. The only thing I know is that surveying costs a small amount of mind and a bigger chunk of action for every sample. So what do you need exactly, and does anything go down while crafting? I'm guessing Mind/Action, mostly.

I was thinking of going Squid-boy for my race. But I am not sure how to rearrange my stats.

I may go weaponsmith and/or armorsmith (if I can), or one of those and tailor.

If I picked Mon Calamari, what would be good stats to have?

Also, if someone can give me an example of a good stat pool for a crafter who may also go out and use say, Pistol and some scouting skills, that would be nice.

Anyways post whatever thoughts you have on good artisan races and stats.

Thanks.

Well, you posted it after 6:00 PM. most people are either:

a) On their way home from work to pay SWG

or

b) Already at home,playing SWG.

But in any case, I'd like to know the answer as well, since my artisan is also a squid. From what I can tell, Mon Cals get a bonus to Mind and it's sub stats. Which is nice if your a medic, bit a tad unneeded for an artisan. I've tried to spread my stats fairly evenly over the three main stats (health, action, mind) my health is about 1000 (max) and it's subs are around 400-500. My action is around 750 (since it's needed for sampling) and it's sub stats are around 400-500 as well. I don't remember what my mind stats were.

I'm primarily an artisan, then working towards pikeman (polearm), then scout, then medic, in order of importance to me.

I might have to adjust things as I start running out of skill points, but you get the idea.

Mind is really useless for artisans.

Only thing that drains anything is sampling. Crafting is no drain. Sampling is a big drain on action and a minimal drain on mind.

So only thing you really need is action bonuses.

That said I don't sample much, so it really doesn't matter. Mon Cal get a weapon assembly bonus (as well as another species, dont' know which) and humans get an extra exp. point for artisan level goods (not weapons or armorsmith or anything like that.)
