In some buildings like Starports and Cantinas there are paintings, rugs, and bottles and such. Also statues.

Maybe at some point we can get an Artist.

They make portraits, paintings, and their frames. They can also make statues and table-top items like vases, jars, etc. They can also sell paint to paint a room in a house, maybe? Another thing they could make is rugs and tapestries.

When they're basic, they can only do pre-determined paintings and portraits. Like portraits of the Emperor for Imps. Maybe portraits of Jimmy Smitts for Rebs . They can do landscapes and such. Then when they're advanced they could do player portraits or photos and frame them. The player portraits or photos could be done by using an in-game camera that boxes the intended subject, then captures the 2-D image. Players with a 'camera' item could take pictures of their friends, battles, etc., save them in their datapad, and give them to an Artist to frame or make a portrait. A portrait would simply be a softened 2-D capture image to give a 'painted' look. The portraits or whatever would then be furniture items.

If the game ever gives image-to-AVI you could even have a profession of Holo Director. If the Holo Director has a good enough computer, that is, they could use an image-capture to capture whatever they focus their camera on. There could be an option to leave player and MOB titles on or off, screen messages, etc. that clutter up the screen. Then they could get actors to play out scenes, edit the movie, and show it at a theater. Considering some of the funny stuff I've seen in-game this could be **edit** funny, but customer boxes would limit use. Nah, that's a dream now that I think of it, too hard at this point to make it feasible. But it would be a cool thing to watch. You'd be watching an automatic, recorded play basically.

But I think the Artist idea could work.

I agree! I like the idea of an Artist. But making rugs and stuff for houses, they might include it in the Architect tree.

Artists, IMO, belong under Entertainer and not Artisan.
