Care to share your mining strategies? My first group of PME is probably going to have to be moved in the next few days. Is it worth re-deeding them? I can by new for half the price of the re-deed.

And if I do destroy them, is it worth upgrading to medium harvesters?

If anyone knows of a good thread or guide to the harvesting industry, I'd appreciate a link.

Thanks

I use to buy any Personal Harv I could find on the Bazaar or Vendors that were under 1k

Then if I forgot to pay or when I had to move a harvestor I would just destroy it and place a new one, Saved me a ton of cash since you have to pay 1500 to redeed it and I was getting them for under 1k.

Med Harvs-WELL Worth it as long as you can afford the Power and Maintenance Cost.

Even if you do buy a medium, still good to keep the personals. I bought a medium, and wanted to place it on a 92% concentration I found only to discover the trees were too close together. I had to go allllll the way to a 76% concentration before I could place it. I was however able to place 2 personals up there, giving me the same effect although it took up 2 spaces.

I think it's a waste to redeed them, but then again I can make them. I guess if you can't readily find them for sale for any less than 1500 it is about a wash one way or the other

I usually re-deed personal harvesters at this point just because I'm lazy and I don't want to have to always have the resources to build new ones.

One stratagy I follow depends on how valuable the resources are to you. Total resources for a small harvester is 250. If you value your resources at 4 credits per unit, then the value of those resources equals 1000 credits. It would then be financially prudent to redeed your harvester up to this cost. If you needed 1200 credits for MP to redeed, or 1000 credits in resources to build a new one, I think the choice is simple.

But then again, your time is also worth credits . That's why I just re-deed my personal harvesters now.

As a side note, the great thing about personal harvesters, in addition to what Kasuta said , is that you can place them on risky ventures more readily than medium harvesters. If you travel off world and find a sweet deposit, personal harvesters can lessen the risk involved when a mine becomes depleted. They are disposable to a great extent. Mediums on the other hand are less so. Heavies definitely not disposable.

Don't know if anyone's pointed this out but medium harvestors are expensive.

Generally 15-40k.

Care to share your mining strategies? My first group of PME is probably going to have to be moved in the next few days. Is it worth re-deeding them? I can by new for half the price of the re-deed.
