I wanted to make some micro sensor suite crates. I had already done crates of gp modules and control units, but when I went to do a factory, I (probably errantly) opened all the crates and manually loaded each and every one of the gps, and control units into the ingrediant hopper. Needless to say, I started the factory and within minutes it said it was done. Should I have left them in the crates? I'm assuming the answer is the same for any compents needed for a bigger item.

It shouldn't matter if you take them out.

In fact sometimes crates are buggy and you HAVE to take them out.

I took mine out and it worked fine.

I'd just like to add...

I think the only thing that matters is the serial number in your schematic and the serial number in all thecomponents you're using in the run all match.

I have made micro sensor suites in my factory... mainly because as a DE I have to make so many of these things and I really really hate making them by hand. However, the factory has difficulties removing the items if you DON'T remove them from the crates, so you are doing the right thing there. You must make SURE that your GP modules, etc are all from the same crate/run as you used in creating the schematic. Check the serial numbers on the schematic (for what is needed) against the items in the input hopper. Also, you may have forgotten to put in one of the other components needed to manufacture the micro sensor suites. All ingredients must match what is used by the schematic exactly.
