I have seen people selling it for huge amounts. What is it used for? I mean, the stats are not that high.

Launcher pistol and Adv Sword core use dolovite. So does advanced solid delivery shell (medicine). If you don't have dolovite, you don't make them.

Irons seem to be one of the "limiting factors" in crafting. They pop rarely, and often on only one planet. That's what makes resource hunting fun.

I think I have almost 11k of this stuff in my back pack i use it for crafting stations for driods because OA and CD are in the 9's maybe I should try and sell it. I think its Dolovite.

I would recommend never using iron for anything but a schematic that called specifically for iron. There a plenty of steels to choose from for other ferrous uses.

Yeah being a DE I had no idea it was good for anything else than using it for its high stats. I did have about 60k of it bust sold most of it on the bazaar for 3pcu. Thats my luck, lol.

Don't know what server you guys are on but Dolovite Iron is fairly easy to find on Lowca and would generally not sell for more than 3cpu unless it has particularly impressive stats

Dolovite is required for Advanced Med components.

Well, you can tell what server I am on by looking to the left at my profile.

Each server seems to have it's own rare resources. On Intrepid, Dolovite is not so rare, but Green Diamond Gem (required for some Master Tailor items) just popped for the first time recently. Yet Milady Madam Tailor Aogwyn Falcor tells me that when she was on Sunrunner it was a common resource.

As an EX-Doc, dolovite on gorath was hard to come by. When you could get it, you got as much as you could. Going broke was ok, because you needed it it for advanced components. Without it you are SOL. If you find Dolovite, mine the hell out of it and sell likemad. Docs are looking for it at high prices. Lucky you who gets a good amount of it!
