Artisan Archive
Thread: Very carefully...
They all appear to be planent specific such as Musafarian steel, Musafarian Iron etc

My crafter doesn't have ToOW, so it should be useable by non-crafter chars too.
I dont think so.
There is a reason that the /sample is in nov. artisan and not available to everyone.
I think it should be Surveying 4 or Master Artisan certed. And it should (very slowly) decay from use and use droid batteries at a very fast rate.
And it should have like BER 6-10+
Maybe use Architect OMUs (BER 7 max) in the construction and let experimentation add 2-5 BER on top of it.

We're having a discussion about this now. I've represented the concerns about harvesting on Mustafar that I have seen in this forum. Perhaps we'll see something, be it the droid or other ideas.
Guru
i would like to see this done 2 different ways or combination of the 2.
Droid Harvesters: This would require a new droid scematic either placed in our crafting list as is or by a easy CL1 based mission. The droid would require x amount of Mustifarian resoursses as well as typical droid components. The ability to mine would be granted through by leveled modules aquired at the same time as the droid, which would also take x amount of resourses and mustifarian resourses at higher levels plus Architect made minning components.
- Level 1 - All Classes - BER 4
- Level 1 - Novice Artisan - BER 6
- Level 1 - Survey 1 - BER 8
- Level 1 - Survey2 - BER 12
- Level 1 - Survey3 - BER 16
- Level 1 - Survey4 - BER 20
The droid would act more like a Musical instrument where it can be placed anywhere, and still allow use of another droid when your elsewhere. Each player would be allowed 1 of these droids that can be placed. After the droid is deployed on the spot to collect from it uses power to collect the resourses. The droid will pack up and return to the owner with the resourses it colected when it runs out of power, resourse shifts, or owner recalls the droid.
Quest Resourse collecting: this quest is started by talking to a Miner Forman looking for surveyers to find high concentrations of resourses on planet. Apon accepting the assignment you recive a homing beacon and a promise of a precentage of the resourse in liew of payment.
when a suitable spot of whatever resourse you wantis found you drop/activate the beacon to call in the miners/droids.
anytime after placing the beacon you can return to the forman to either collect your precentage which is based on your skill see above and/or select a new resourse.
Im wanting more of the droid option not just cause its droid related more along the lines it has more content associated with it.
ber 20 for a droid is alittle high seeing that 18's in heavies just hit my server about a month or so ago

A month? That change is in the last few weeks.
Any ideas how we could introduce the money/power sink into the droids?
I dont think the DEVs would like harvester without them...
Obviously the power could be needed to power the ore mining unit, while the droid batteries keep the droid running. (Just like in Back to the future 2 ^^ )

Since they added a mining planet, maybe it's time to bring back the Miner profession that they were going to have in the game originaly.
Just amazed that some producer of this game actually thinks that AFK sampling is fun. Honestly, what the hell kind of decision is that?

Well I left my CL2 on Mustafar on a 90% spawn of a steel that had SIX of SEVEN stats over 910. Three north of 980. I pulled up around 7k overnight. And I'm happy with that.
Whats the big deal?? It's not that hard to macro it and leave it running when your asleep? Many of you forget how you initially 'ground' your profession. You know, when you were so dirt poor you'd mine all night and craft what you mined overnight during your day hours.
Yeah it'd be neat if they tied in something that wouldn't allow the 'PROFITEER SPECULATORS' to have an advantage of lot farms. But would allow a Master craft profession or Master Artisan some benefit of mining there, through a quest or simple artisan missions. Say you'd get 30k of something much like someone would get that loot item for killing a bad guy or completing tasks.
Yeah Mustafar is a mining planet, but I just can't see a bunch of forgotten Heavy BER's littering the landscape smoking and condemned. See it enough already.
I also noticed the shifts are fast. Say a couple of days or even a day on some.
And the critters? C'mon get your mask scent and camoflage BE clothes and avoid the red arrows. How hard is that? So you get an incap, whoop-dee-do you wait and go around them to the best possible spot...keeping them at 60 meters range. It's not rocket science. My lil guy spent all last night sucking up that steel with three raptors and a lava flea sentry (aggro) merely 70 m away.
