I am just trying to find out if the fact that power ups produced at factories have no "power up" to them is a bug or is it intentional?

Have you tested this, in that you have looked at a Weapon before and after you applied a powerup?

I have seen power-ups in the bazaar that are like this, they look like power ups but have a custom name and no power-up effect. This is a bug and if you can re-create it, you might want to submit a /bug report.

I've tested it. Powerups created at factories are in fact completley useless junk!!

When creating a prototype (i.e. not factory created), the powerup doesn't get it's abilities until it lands in your inventory... you don't know the results of experimenting or what abilities it has until it is actually created. When you create a manufacturing schematic, the process stops just after experimentation... the point where the powerup's type and abilities have yet to be determined. Using this manufacturing schematic creates exactly what you see in the schematic -- a powerup with no abilities what so ever. I'd call it a bug!

You hit it right on. Because the effects of power-ups are random the factory which is designed to make exact copies can't make random stat items. And the fact power up effects are random makes you wonder why they bothered putting in the different type (Muzzle, Scope, Stock, etc) when they all randomly have the chance to make the same things. They could of just had each power up have a specific stat, or stats in the case of high quality material with experimentation, it boosted. It would justify the extra schematics which currently have no point of being in the skill tree since they all do the same thing. Making them each have the specific stat increase then Factories would work with them.

First off thankyou all for responding. My point to this is, if we can make a schematic for the item, after we have experimented, and gotten what we want, why does it not work? If the varialbles just don't allow for a power up to be made in the factory, we should be told. I am not asking for the key to crafting here. All I want to know is, if it is a bug that the factory created power ups are junk or is that on purpose. Also a side note, if you pay close attention when you craft a power up and experiment, you can make the same one over and over. I have done this. Just remember, when you experiment, the type of success you have will change what it dose. This is what I mean:

you take X fiberplast and Y metal, use the same type everytime. I know you know this, but its a guide.

Then you experiment: if you make a powerup that is 77% on effectivness and 33% on durribility, remember what order you did it in. That is the key to makeing the same power up more often then not.

NOTE: the fomula that you worked so hard, will change when the resources shift. Have a nice f#$%en day with that one.
