Thread: Factory made powerups? Bug or acting as designed?

I purchased a factory over the weekend, and wanted to start making crates of powerups for my friends (who tend to go through them like there's no tomorrow). I experimented and made a schematic for 100 92% effective Muzzles. When the factory completed the powerups I took a few crates and extracted a couple of powerups. All of the powerups have the same name: Muzzle (as opposed to the names that I get when crafting powerups by hand), and don't appear to *do* anything. There are no stats on the powerups, and when placed onto a weapon, the weapon's stats don't seem to increase.

I remember reading somewhere that some factories are bugged, but I couldn't find the specific thread. Is this a bug, or is the system working as designed? Either way, I've lost out on some good powerups to give out .

It's supposed to be like that; factory-made powerups don't do anything.

I think the reason is because powerups have random attributes when created, and since you created a perfect "schematic," it can't create anything random from it. So it makes nothing.

Ah, good - one more reason why powerups are a boon to the non-elite artisan. I had a nightmare last night that someone used a factory to churn out thousands of Tuned Muzzles destroying the one nice saleable product I had found...
