Thread: Any Artisan profession for less frequent play time??
I'm not interested in making tons of $$, or PL'ing my way up the skill tree as fast as possible. I'd just like to be able to make some items as time permits that I'll be able to sell and have fun with. I chose Artisan (and SWG in particular), due to the fact that I don't have to go out and constantly fight MOBs for XP, like most other games. Is there an elite profession that maybe uses less resources than the others (I don't mind doing surveying and sampling), and doesn't require constant online time for upkeep??
Thanks for your replies!

I thought I had found the answer with munitions, which is a line of skills witrhin weaponsmith.
I am currently debating its feasability, due to the fact that it may take up to two years of casual play to actually acheive novice smith making munitions.
however it fits the other criteria you set, as in you don't need harvestors.
You might want to just be an entertainer instead.
You don't really need anything to adavance, can do so at your own pace too.

Another thing you can do is plan ahead a bit.
Get a couple k (10-20) of cash saved up and drop a power harvester when the resources change over. Let it sit for 4-5 days and then empty it, that should give you at least 1-2 weeks worth of power for 1-2 harvesters. Save up another 10-20k and watch the resources again, drop when they come in. Usually resources tend to last about 4-5 days minimal, so if you plan ahead and have the maintanance, you can leave your harvester going for a week and then come back to it and reap the rewards.
Or you can be like me...drop 12 of the medium mineral harvesters, burn 160k in 1 week and have enough materials to master weaponsmith in 7 days....after that it's just grinding....good thing I got 2 factories also
.
seriously I find that if you work a bit ahead of time you can really let harvesters lay for a while, resources don't move so much as disappear. and they do it all at once, but somewhat predictably. Given you spend about 4 hours doing transport missions you can get your weeks worth of upkeep for a harvester....be it metal or power.
