Is this necessary. Right now I have Surveying 3 which gives me the range I want. What is the advantage of surveying 4. I'm not hand sampling so that doesn't matter to me. I have surveying to find resources and drop harvesters.

If you're happy with the range at 3 and you need the spare points, then there isn't really a need for 4 as all you get apart from the range is higher chance to sample sucessfully.

Of course u also get the ability to master artisan if u want that...
