Thread: i just got novice artisan . will an expert please read
I have a better idea. Instead of using a Macro, why not just make stuff. Just make stuff to sell on the Bazaar, or to other players.
Is that such a novel concept? Why the heck does everyone just want to exploit until they're at the top? All that does is burn you out quicker, and you have less fun doing it.
If you want to be an artisan, than just be one, don't try to just jump to the top.
It doesn't take much crafting to get to Engineering 4, without using macros. I've never really fully understood why some people deem this game (and almost every other MMORG) a race.
Aren't games supposed to be fun? Does using a macro add something to the game experience that I've missed from crafting items in the normal way? If I achieve Engineering 4 or Master Artisan (or any other Master title) 'x' minutes/hours/days sooner using macros then I can't see what benefit I would get out of this?
So, am I right in thinking the people who do this are competing? Like an ego thing? Cos it doesn't seem that much of an ego boost to me, its just a time factor really isn't it? Anyone can 'achieve' goals in the game granted sufficient time, so if you want to compare yourself to others and race aren't you only comparing the amount of time you have available to play the game?
Well Esiam,
I went from Novice Artisan to all 4 boxed of all 4 skill catagories in under a week. I'm still working on master artisan however. The only script you will need is one for sampling (collecting) recources and I'll include it below....
First step, locate / buy high conductivity Copper, I lucked outr and hit 999 on my second day, just luck of the draw I guess. You will use this to make your crafting tools. Every time you go up a level in the engineering path make yourself new Crafting Tools as they will get better and better. DON"T FORGET TO EXPERIMENT ON THEM! at each step make a few extra... and sell them on the bazar.
Step 02, start collecting / buying steel, aluminum and ore. use thses to make Survey tool of varying types and also seel these on the bazaar or give them away,.
The trick is to craft stuff, any stuff until you get to Engineering III. Once you have Engineering III start to make Personal Mineral Extractors and Wing Power Generators. These will net you over 500 XP each so you're in the home stretch.. Either sell the Mineral extrector or use them.
Sampling macro:
/stand;
/pause 1;
/sample;
/pause 2;
/sit
/pause XX;
/ui use toolbarSlot00;
Note in the last pause command enter the number of seconds it take yoiu to regenerate the action point used by sampling, ontherwise you will use up all you action points and be standing arroun fdoing nothing.
In the las line (ie: /ui) use this line if you place this macro in the F1 tool bar slot. iIf you place this macro in another slot you will need to change this number accordingly.
I hope this helps....
I dont know if this is a 'grind or not" but when I was working on artisan. I just made travel paks and sold them. Lots of people will buy them if the price is good--I sold for 400cr each I believe. Not only did they make me lots of xp, I made some money to buy more resources. I also collected various resources from just /sample, which I turned into smaller items to sell.
I am at master artisan, trying to decide which elite to go for(I wanna do em all-but not enough points, :-(, hehe)
have fun. also, visit swgcraft.com for some good advice and links.

Heres a good idea: Survey urself and craft some beginner items... Then find some friends (Not giving xp, but a funner game :-)) Then u get the xp slowly but u have a lot of fun with the game...
I dont like macroing... It much funner just playing the game... I did do it that way and in 1½ week i was master without a single macro... It was great fun... U can always practice with harvester they gives a lot of xp... When u get master and need xp for elite skills just sell vehicles they goes very fast and u will soon have enough xp to a elite skill...
Dont practice with vehicles they are too expensieve...
