I've been thinking lately (always a dangerous thing).. what if there was a player-run Training Academy on one of the more popular planets (say, f'rex, Naboo or Corellia). Here's how I see it working. It's especially feasible given the existance of barker bots on TC. (Sorry if this seems a bit disjointed, I was up waaaay too late last night.)

Charge a modest entry fee for 24 hours' access (say 50-100 creds) for entry into a medium house. Maybe a small to start, since they require less maintenance.

Have private-quality crafting stations that are public inside. Anybody can use them, as long as they are willing to pay the (see aforementioned modest) entry fee. Maybe even place a vendor or two, mostly stocked with items needed for beginning Artisans (or Scouts, or whatever - no real reason this needs to just be limited to one profession).

The main idea behind the Academy, though, is to provide a space where people can go to train and be trained - by other players. Instead of having people standing outside the starport spamming the world trying to find training, or people to train, get together a handful of people who are willing to hang out at the Academy (maybe while crafting or grinding their way up through the profession).

This would need a group of people willing to work together to get it to work, but it could be a really cool idea - especially if you're into RP.

Does anybody know if there's already something like this in existance?
