Thread: Survey Skill Tapes?

I'm sure this has been answered before, but the search engine won't let me search right now...
Do the survey skill tapes do anything? or are they trash ready?

They are supposed to give you more yield per sample from what i've read, they do NOT give you more range. I have a +25 suit but i don't hand sample enough to notice a difference. Please note that the FS Survey Skill tree WILL give you a higher range of surveying.

But wont it cap? 360 meters is the limit I am told.
Any ideas?

So extra yeild per sample. Hmm seems like waste. *shrugs*
That FS survey tree is the only reason i've been considering FS.

I think it depends on what skill box of survey you have.
At survey IV, I think only the FS boxes help to increase your range, tapes do not.
However, if you have +25 survey tapes, I think you can have just survey III and still get the same range as you have at survey IV, saving you 5 skill points. You may need to reset your survey tool range while wearing the tapes after dropping IV, though.

This is not the case. I've tried it. the +25 points in survey from tapes do not increase your range as I had hoped it would. But yes, you will get higher rangewith the FS Survey, there is one level of range higher than what we get at Survey 4.
