Thread: General Crafting XP for Harvesters
When will gen XP be given for crafting harvesters? I have been very patient, but it is starting to wear thin. The devs' response to this issue was "We are going to change this back to generic." (verbatim)
Well, I see a new build today that issues many concerns. Many concerns it seems, except for the above issue. If artisans (not architects) can create harvesters, then artisans should get the crafting benefit from their creation. I don't see any items that artisans can craft that only give droid crafting XP, so why favor the architects.
This seems a fundamental issue, has been addressed by devs, but is NOT BEING IMPLEMENTED by them.I should think it is a simple coding fix, not a major rewrite.
There are no excuses for this. My opinion is now that even though they said they would implement, their lack of doing so illustrates they have no desire to do it, or disagree with it in concept.
Jasarina, please find out if they really intend on making this change, or if they are just "yanking our cranks" and refuse to do it.
Thanks!
It might make sense to switch personal harvesters to general crafting xp because you gain that ability during eng III,but all of the medium and heavy ones that the Architects make should remain structure xp.
Actually, I just test and yes personal harvester does give XP. I made two to put on bazaar, both gave me XP to level my Artisans tree from Bus I.
I get a little over 400xp each...

It may have been changed now for items newly crafted, but there is still the issue of old xp.
I am a Master Artisan/Novice Armorsmith and I have 17,000+ structure crafting XP that need to be moved to General.
Thanks for letting us knowthat its at least partially fixed.
If im not a Novice architect or never have been, then I should have no structure crafting XP.
It's easy.. Take all the structureXP I have and move it to general.

It's easy from a human decision perspective; it may not be so easy from a programming perspective. There may not be any flags for "Not an architect and never have been", and that sort of thing can't be added retroactively.
Alacrity is absolutely right. If you actually take into account other people besides your own situation, it rapidly becomes clear that it's nearly impossible to tell who should have their Structure crafting experience transferred, and who shouldnt. This doesnt even take into account the Architects who have already spent their Structure XP which should've been General Crafting xp. Or, architects who haven't spent it, but also have Structure XP from making architect line items. Or, architects who have spent some, but not all of the Structure XP they gained. Or, architects who made structures, then surrendered all of their Architect skills, and therefore have extra Structure XP left over. Or those who did the aboveand then made harvesters.
There's a high likelihood that there's absolutely no way for them to trap for any of those different cases. Therefore, I would get used to the fact that you're going to have extra Structure Xp you're not going to use and simply move along and play the game.
No idea. It might be that I am @ ENG IV?
I crafted a dz personal mineral extractors yesterday. Got XP to help me level Domestic Art and Business.
Worked fine.
Wind Generator you get 325 XP
Mineral Extractor (personal) you get 425XP
This is w/o using practice mode.
