I started a new toon recently and decided to make some money running artisan missions. He's a bounty hunter in training, but I've found the artisan missions pay better. In any case, I've been getting really frustrated by all the "broken" artisan missions. Specifically he ran a lot of missions between Deeja Peak and Moenia on Naboo and each one pays about 1.3k or so (so 2.6k for 2 which is more than decent money for a noob). Anyhow, at least 25% of the time, there is no NPC there either to give or receive the components. But here in the funny part...

I took a mission in Deeja peak and it turned out that the "start" position was very close to the terminal. So I ran over there half expecting to find no NPC there. I was correct, no NPC at the waypoint. There was however one not too far away, but running in the opposite direction(!). I gave chase, he eventually gave up and stopped running, I clicked on him and sure enough he gave me the components. Kinda makes you wonder why he was feeling and what he had to hide

Maybe he was looking for you and didn't notice you behind him.

What most likely happened, since i have seen this many times before, is that there was a battle just a few meters away before you got there, and the NPC's run like hell when there is blaster bolts flying thru the air. they do adventually come back after a bit of time.

Hello,

When this happened to me it usually was from combat happening or just happened nearby...and usually it's because of AFK campers if your mission NPC is near a spawn point for gang-member NPCs.

The worst occurence for me was when a player BH took out someone next to my mission NPC--perfectly legit since the BH was on a mission himself (I think--I've never played BH). The bad part is that my NPC ran into a tree. I couldn't target him so I wasn't able to give him the crafted item. I was just a week or so into the game and wasn't fully aware of the tilde key to bring up radial menu.
