Hi everyone, I was in beta but I didnt do the crafting professions during my testing of the game.

Im toying with a crafter at the moment and have two questions.

1. I need to craft some specialised tools. Now I can see that there is resource %s to improve the quality. If I use the best possible tool resoources, does that mean the final quality of the tool will be better? And also, should I do this with making my own general crafting tool to make it better than the supplied tool I got at the start?

2. Can I use a specialised tool for a schematic that asks for a general craft tool? Like, lets say something can be made with the GCT, but I have a related specialised tool that logically is within the same group of crafts as the item that says to use the GCT. Can I use the specialised tool instead and get some sort of benefit?

Thanks

1: Im not sure how much effect a +20% Effectiveness tool has on items you craft, but I always make the best I can anyway.

2: Yes, the main benefit being that you can experiment if you are near the relevant crafting station.

Make sure to experiment on the specialized tool. Every time I gain experimentation points, the first thing I do is make a new set of crafting tools.

You want to get the experimentation stat in the 90s.

The reason why is the better the stat, the less chance there is of critical failures. Also, I think your experimentation results come out better as well.

As far as making general crafting units, I only make those as part of a Artisan Starter Kit (crafting unit + mineral survey) that I sell to people who pick up artisan as a second profession.

Hello all I just recently decided to become an artisan and I have two questions for all the artisans here.

1. What item gives the best amount of xp for the resources used?

2. Now this is a crazy one but has any master artisan out there ever tried to make the best set of bone armor they can? If so what did it turn out like? Yes I know crazy question.

Any other adivice or tips is welcome as well. Thanks in advance.

1. Not sure exactly, I did mineral tools until engineering 4, then harvesters.

2. Yes, got it about 31% way back in the day without segments. I've seen better though

I agree with the above post. To grind the fastest use whatever u can (i think i used generic crafting tools) to get eng 4. Then grind harvs. Once you can grind harvs it is a cakewalk to do the rest provided you have the resources. Also read the macro FAQs and make a chain of macros to grind it out. It will save you alot of time and clicking!!!

For Surveying i made a sample macro and would AFK sample at night when i went to bed. It no use sitting in front of the screen watching yourself sample. Good Luck!

I made a bone armor set about 2 months ago. Got the best bone and hide I could find and used voritor segments. It came out to around 36% energy and the second highest resistance was kenetic, but not nearly as high. Lots of vulnerabilities though.
