Thread: How to make the Bazzar work.
So I was trying to sell stuff the other day and It came to mind how to make a better deal off the bazzar.
I now format all items [xx-xx xx]item name. So a pistol might be [12-20 3.37]CDEF Pistol. The vaules in the front allow for shorting by name and being the stats people want it does not take long for someone to figure out that is damage and wound chance. POOF my small bus is now booming. Just an idea.
On a sub note. Please don't sell something on auction for 7 days if its carp it just waste space and time. Use the instant sale.
I agree with you, I hate looking at 100 CDEF Pistols that are your standered 17-35 DMG because there is no way to tell how good they are until you examine them. I always put the DMG/SPD on the item, but then again I put it at the end :-). Either way is better then 1000 CDEF Pistols on the Bazaar and no way to tell how good with out opening every one.
The better solution would be to have the DEV's make a new colom with a brief statement to the items stats.
I sell food at the Bazaar I get tired of writing the stats modifyers down first then typing it in the Nameing window when I creat the stuff.

Bind cut and paste in the options. Now if your items are close on stats. you can just type it once crtl+shift+c (thats just what I have copy bond to) then crtl+shift+V and paste the name(once again just how I bind them). can crank out all you want. No one is going to complain if the item is better then it is on the name.
Everyone's comments just point out the need for more information to be available in the item listing. I'd like:
Item Type -- An invariable description of the item (CDEF Pistol, DH17 Pistol, etc). Essentially the default name. By and large I'm looking for a particular item and don't really need to try to figure out stuff like "Waldo's Bad A** Hyper Pistol".
Creator -- Who made it
Statistics -- Well, this would be nice, though not applicable to all things; maybe better would be the following
Description -- One-line description taken from description of item when putting it up on the Bazaar. You could manually enter the statistics you want here; if this could be filled in automatically with some useful default, that would be better.
I'd also like to see better sorting (i.e., sub-sorts, ascending/descending), searches, and client-side filtering. Currently the name is really the only way we have to differentiate the products, which is what everyone is fighting with.
It would help if the XP grinders kept their junk off the Bazaar. I don't think too many people are buying that crap and it makes it tougher for the quality good to be found. Typically, I put the damage or armor stats at the end so I get something like:
CDEF Pistol 27-57 damage
or
Bone Armor Leggings 20 / 10 / 10
It makes it easy to read since it doesn't (normally) get truncated, it makes it easier to find, and I've noticed people are willing to pay extra creds for quality.
A final note to Artisans: you get more XP if people actually USE your stuff. Nobody wants the cheap crap you're clogging the Bazaar with. Putting 25 Armor Chest Plates with 9 / 8 / 8 stats out on the Bazaar merely eats up your Bazaar slots. Meanwhile, I've been gaining 1000-2000 usage XP per DAY while making fewer armor pieces.
