You get general crafting experience, but you get very very very little. I've sold maybe 10 guns and a few other items and I get about 3 XP per day. Keep an eye on your general crafting experience and see if it changes.

3 a day? I got well over 1000 use XP yesterday. And I'm not exaggerating.

It's all in the items you build. As more people buy your items (and, yes, I'm making money as an artisan) the more use XP you will receive. Keep in mind that nobody will pay for crap, so you really need to experiment and make quality weapons and armor.

3 is pretty low. I also got about 700 yesterday from a friend of mine using some pieces of bone armor I gave him when we go out hunting. And this was in the span of only a couple of hours. Now, if you sell a gun, and the buyer never uses it but once or twice, I can see how you'd only get 3. I would definitely suggest selling to friends or other friendly groups you meet. Get to a point where you become the "manufacturer of choice" for them. They help you by providing you with materials, you help them by making them stuff. =)

I was recently testing artisan profession when Beta ends so Im not sure about this (as a newbie artisan cannot make valuable stuff) so my question is ¿can you gain UXP while you are not online?

You can and do gain UXP while offline. I stopped crafting on Wednesday night with 29 GCXP after taking novice architect. I logged in Thursday afternoon with 1500+ new GCXP. Granted, I have a lot of stuff out there being used by a lot of people but that's much more fun than craft and destroy and a serious bonus for making the effort to find a market.

Another question for this thread:

1.Do you get the UXP (User experience) if you GIVE the item away??

2.Do you get UXP for Clothing? if so at what point when the item is equiped?

3.Do you getUXP for food when ppl eat it?

Thanks in advance.

All very good questions. I have one as well.

Q: If you create a General Crafting Tool, or any of the crafting tools or harvesters and sell/give them to users, does that mean you will get UXP every time people are using those devices?

Sounds likes Weapons/PowerUps/Harvesters/Crafting Tools are good things to make to get UXP from people if that is the case.

I got quite a bit of UXP yesterday by making a Generic Crafting Tool for a player and watching him use it. Same is true for Surveying tools. I also noticed that I got UXP for crafting harvesters and using them myself. Acquired about 700-1000 UXP yesterday in the space of about 2-3 hours. Some things seem to give more UXP than others, I also crafted and sold some bone armor pieces and no doubt they saw some use as well.

Wow, I guess it's not that I'm getting crappy xp, it's that people aren't using my crappy items!

Well this only encourages me to try to build and market better items, thanks guys.

It doesn't matter if you give the items away, or sell them as long as it's someone else using your item.

All items are supposed to give UXP, although fireworks don't seem.

Durable items like weapons, armor, clothes, etc., give the UXP over time, sort of ramdomly from my observation and is supposed to cap at 1.5 times the XP you received when you crafted the item.

Single use items like food are supposed to give you all the UXP in one shot when it's consumed. The UXP is supposed to be 1/2 the crafting xp, I think... if I remember correctly.

Samlo, you have it right on. To get that UXP you need to make and distribute items that people will use.
