Artisan Archive

I have a bit of a confusing question. First I plan to be a droid engineer and eventually a weaponsmith. I want to know is it worth it for me to do the domestic disciple of artisan to get the artisan experimentation bonus. As I understand it you get one experiment point for every 10 points in artisan experimentation. I have +55 now and get 5 points. When I move on to droids does my experiment point come from droid experimentation only or do I add my artisan ones also. Say I have +75 artisan and +15 droid. So would I get 8 experiment points or just one, or would I get 9. I hope this make some kind of sense.
