I have read (And verified personally) that making most items will give you xp equal to the Resources used to make the item times 2.

The new "Practice" option is said to give you an extra 5% xp, but will not return an item.

So logically I assume that since a harvester takes about 300 resources to make, I should get 600 XP from making it, plus 5% for Practice.

In reality, I wasted about 2000 resources before I realized that it was giving me NO XP whatsoever.

I tested the process with all harvester types, with practice on and off, and I never got XP from any of them. I watched as I placed my harvester and got no XP.

My question is ..... Do I EVER get XP from building a harvester? and if so when?

You're getting XP. Just not in General Crafting.

All of the harvesters and power generators at Artisan-level actually grant Structure Crafting XP.

If you're not getting Structure Crafting XP either, then it's a bug.

Buildings ie harvesters, houses, power generators, etc. give you xp in the structure crafting area. It is like the survey/trapping/etc skills that have unique xp and not just general xp. The best thing I've found so far to grind on is the chemical survey tool. I find some cheap alum, steel, or such and just use that one resource for the 22 resources it takes.

I was monitoring my Engineering XP, trying to get from Engineering 3 to Engineering 4, so you may be correct. I will look when I get home tonight.

Thank you.
