Thread: Intended or unintended? Harvester question

Well in three days I'm going on vacation for two weeks, and wanted to make sure my four basic harvesters that Im leaving up will have maintenance and power all paid up (I have a friend watching to switch resources). Now my problem is, I did the math and calculated how much maintenance I'd have to pay for 22 days (from now until the 19th), which is 13,200 credits per harvester (which is a bit expensive if you ask me). Anyway, I put that much into my flora farm, and it said 22 days, some odd hours. Cool. Then I ran over to my low grade ore mine and did the same thing. Low and behold, only 18 days and some hours?? Do some resources actually cost more in maintenance to harvest?? I didn't know if this was a bug, or intended to be that way, in any case it's a little annoying. I mean, maintenance is a little on the high side already without having to pay to harvest certain resources. Can anyone confirm if this is how it's supposed to be, or if it has happened to anyone else? Thanks.

Hmmm, weird. Are you sure they didn't just have different amounts to begin with?

Also, I dunno if it's a good idea paying that far in advance. Guaranteed the resource will shift a number of times in that time period. You should find someone you trust to keep an eye on them while you're out.

Nope, they both started with the same amount of credits. I know it really stinks having to pay that far in advance and hope for the best, but I have to. -_- Which brings up the other issue of what about the people who want to pay for harvesters every few days and then have some freedom? But oh well. After I get back from vacation I'll probably bring my harvesters down, at least for a while. Too much of a hassle sometimes, especially with how often resources change.

If I were you I would have paid them up to the 1500/3000 minimum maintenance and reclaimed the deeds, then put them back down when I got back. Seriously, as soon as the resource changes they will shut themselves off and just sit there the whole time burning credits. At the very least, I'd highly encourage you to find someone you trust at least partly and put them in charge of resource changeover while you're gone. The worst that can happen is they can take all the resources, in which case you wouldn't be a whole lot worse off then you will be if the resources change the day after you leave.

I did say Ii do have someone switching the resources for me, and I trust them because I know them irl :-) so if they do anything, they'll have to deal with my furry personally. I just think it's really weird the maintenances are different.

The piece you are neglecting is that when the resources shift, your harvester might not be pulling anything at that location. Perhaps the minerals will be only trace on that spot, but it would be a great spot for wind. When the resources changed last time, I ended up taking all my harvesters down and finding new spots for them.
