Thread: Factory help needed.
I am trying to make an item that requires 3 components. I have run each of those 3 components in my factory and have them still in their crates. If I place the 3 crates plus the materials needed into the ingredient hopper and start the machine, it stops after making 0 items. I have also tried taking the items out of the crate and placing them in the ingredient hopper and it still does not work. The funny part of this, each failed attempt uses the material but creates no item. What am I doing wrong?

Theitem I ammakingis the"Action Wound Medpack - B". Guess the only answer I need is wheather you put the crate in the item hopper, or if you have to break them out of the crate then put them in the hopper.

Factories are currently bugged in such a way that they do not know how to extract items from a crate.
What I've been doing to produce MY stimpack B's is this: after each run of 32 items, I return to the factory, pull all ingredients out, pop 32 of each of the subcomponents from their crates by hand, and toss them into the factory input hopper (total: 96 items). Then, I put in my stack of organic and inorganic (new total:98 items), then I tell it to start manufacturing.
Check to make sure that you are using the right components for your final schematic. You have to manufacture the 3 subcomponents first, then use samples from your crates to experiment up a final schematic. Insert that final schematic into the factory, and then have it show you the schem requirements. Examine the items you are putting in to make sure they have the correct serial numbers (all crafted items have batch serial numbers, especially crates)
Here's another tip - you can leave your crates of subcomponents in the factory's output hopper until they are needed- you can take out one at a time, but you can't put them back. Since schems can produce 1000 items at a time, that means 20 crates, each one having a volume of 5 - that's 100 units of volume(enough to FILL your bank), and the factory's output hopper can hold TONs and TONs of volume ![]()
