I ama new player trying to start out as an artisan. Well, I managed to learn all the branches and have been out trying to place an extractor here or there. I understand if I am the last one to a spot but to place other objects just to prevent other players from harvesting resources is not fair play. I am neutral and have seen this done by rebel players so far. I am sure imperials do the same.

So, how can a new player compete in a game like this? Any advice, please!

i personally haven't seent that, a good resource is a good resource and everyone wants it to ave some for now or later, my advice is find a different location for you to place your harvestors... there are usually more than a couple good spawns on a planet/s for a resource...

i'm not in a guild... sell my things to anyone that will buy... but i do have some friends and good working relationships with other players in the game... when i find a good location, usually like 5k away from the nearest town, i'll send them the WP (for free or for a fee if i asked to look for a certain resource)...

one thing to rememebr is that resources have been shifting about every week now... find ppl that are in the same trade as you and send /tells back and forth when a shift comes in...

another way to make money is to just find a high concentration of a high demand grinding material... these ppl don't care about the quality just the quantity... harvest that resource till it shifts out sell and repeat... you'll hear ppl shouting all the time "looking for metal for grinding"... sell what you've harvested to them for like 3cpu... if you want to master one of the elite art pro's you can become pretty self sufficent up to the point of master... by then you should have the money to buy the higher quality resources that are needed...

or join a neutral guild and work with them so you are one of the groupong of harvestors lol...

also you've probably seen it more from rebs than imps because the rebs outnumber the imps...

I can just see a "Wait for the Combat Revamp" and "Wait for the Smuggler Revamp" quote all rolled into one.
"Wait for the Smuggbat Revamp"
Smuggbat, I like that
