I'm currently working on Artisan (Hoping to make a quick buck in Surveying/harvesting), and had a question about that + Surveying you get in every box. It says you'll be able to increase your range and find better samples.
Well I have Surveying 2 now (+40 Surveying total), and I experimented up a +70% Mineral Survey device, but I still only get 64x3 as my only option for range. How do I improve my range? Can you, or is this like the Squad Leader's /rally (THe description is broken)?

You need to set range on the survey tool up to 192m. Hit the radial menu and you will get this option

Ahh.. Must've just appeared.. it wasn't there with Surveying 1.
What ranges are available? And at when?

You didn't get a range boost at survey 1, only at 2,3 &4. I think it tops out at just over 500

Does the % on a survey tool do anything for you?
Thanks,

I have a related question:
When you select tool options/set rangefor the survey tools, you can select from 5 settings:
- 64m x 3pts
- 128m x 4pts
- 192m x 4pts
- 256m x 5pts
- 320m x 5 pts
But when you EXAMINE the tool, a tool properties box comes up that tells you the max range limit is 384m. I have Survey IV and Master Artisan, and I even have a skill enhancement +4 (if that's making any difference), but I still can't find any way to get the range up to 384m. Have I missed something?

It's probably just one of those things that the Devs %$&^ed up and never bothered to fix.
