I am trying to develop in the artisan profession but no matter what i do i cannot get my survey skill to start gaining points come to think of it i cannot get any of my skills to gain points can someone plz tell me what i am doing wrong

I assume you're a relatively new player, or at least new to the artisan profession. I'm not sure what you're doing, but what might be wrong is that you don't get Survey xps for using survey (messed up isn't it?) you get Survey xps from sampling. So you may need to find a nice high % spot and just sample for xps. As for your other skills, you get xps for crafting items, like survey tools, etc... So you may want to sample different resources to craft different items. I hope this helps
