I used metal and polymer that a friend game me to grind to master artisan this weekend. I picked up Novice on Friday night about midnight or 1am, and was done by Sunday morning.

Grind Weapon powerups in the engineering line till you can make small harvesters. After that. you can grind harvesters for about 500 exp per harvester, plus you can use them to pull more resources.

You *should* try to make a proffit on your grind items if possible. Harvesters are the best way to do this. Rate 2 and 3 harvs should sell if resonably priced.

As a Smuggler, I grinded FANs. They take copper and metal. Great if you have alot of copper and just use practice. I was glad to find out my smuggler materials count for general crafting. All it takes is 2 crafting tools as they are made fast. By the time you are done setting up the second tool, the first is done. I personally never used a harvester and made it to MA. All you need is a good way to make money, like running missions from one player city to the next which are usually 1500m away from each other. Get enough creds and find a resource vendor who sells resources. I consider myself a city crafter as I buy all the resources I need. I only survey to build 1 offs like a jacket or a powerup. Survey xp was too easy.

As for the Aprentice XP I found barking didnt get me anywhere. Instead I did what the devs intended and I found it to be more fun and faster. I would approach anyone with a Novice Artisan tag and in-character (IC), offer to train them any artisan skills for free. Asking IC gets better responses and sometimes they offer to come back to you 'very soon' as everyone now is grinding MA to make vehicles.

I won't be looking for profit. I will be using the experimentation option that produces no product. . . I'm just hitting MA as part of my holo quest and will be dropping it asap. I won't even be keeping it long enough to make a vehicle.

Also I used to have a great crafting macro but lost it. Does anyone have a good one?
