i was just wondering if anyone can use a harvester. can anyone place a harvester and use it or is it required that you have artisan? If artisan is required does surveying effect how fast or how much your harvester puts out?

my artisan skills = 0 (not even novice)

my harvesters = 5 medium mineral / 3 solar

harvester efficency = 100%

Basically, anyone can use a harvester. Your artisan skills, or lack thereof, will not effect the harvs in any way.

However, you need to be an artisan to actually FIND specific resources by surveying. You will either need an artisan friend to survey for you, or you can just plop a harv down and mine whatever comes out of the ground.
