in a nutshell, heavies max at 13, meds at 10. Fusion gens at 14. Good ok bad are subjective but basically, med 8-10 is ok. If you're paying for heavies, you better be getting 13 out of them to justify the expense of running them imho.

If youuse this formula, you can see what your getting out of each harv:

(.xx)*(BER)*(24)*(60) = units per day

where .xx is the concentration in decimal form and BER is the base extraction rate of the harvester you're using

For example say you found a 75% spot of copper. A small harvester with a max BER of 4 will cost 30 credits per hour (720 per day) will get you [(.75)x(4)x(24)x(60)] units per day or 4320 units at a cost of 720 credits. This comes to .1666 credits per unit.

On the other hand a medium harv with a BER of 10 on the same spot will get you 10800 units a day and cost you 60 credits per hour (1440 per day) which comes to .1333 credits per unit.

Of couse none of this includes the price of power. Heavy harvs cost more per unit than mediums but are cheaper than smalls (.15 cpu on a 75% spot for a heavy).

All in all mediums are the most cost effective, but are in the middle range in terms of the cost of running them.
