Im a DE and ive been trying to figure this out. You are correct tho /tellpet commands do not work as far as i have seen. Ive tried it with variations being that with creature you have to /tellpet (name) attack. Sometimes you can do it with "a" sometimes its gotta be "attack". So i reckon ill bring it up as an issue over on the DE forums.

This may be a silly question, but have you programmed your droid to use "a" for it's attack command? If you picked up your pet from a CH, the pet almost always uses "a" for the attack command, but that's because the players who train themdon't like typing long commands. That's a player-chosen command, not anything standard in the game itself.

If you examine the droid in the datapad, it will either list the commands in the examine window, or the icon has a "list command" option on the radial menu. If you don't like the choices, use the "program" option on the droid's radial menu (it must be called to do that), select the command you want to teach it, then speak the word it should associate with the command.

I've had problems with single-letter commands working in /tellpet, maybe try programming the attack command to be "att", then in your macro use "/tellpet att".

And I believe a droid can only be programmed to attack if it was built with combat modules (or is an old pre-Droid Invasion probot).

Yeah the problem is not the "a" or "attack" part of the command line. I feel that it is the slash command itself we are getting wrong. Now ive been trying variations of /tellpet, i dont think there is a /telldroid command but ill check that out too.

i hear theres a problem with "tellpet" and one letter combo's

My droid, "sparky" has "attack" as his command, and I have a macro "sparky attack" (without the quotes)

works for me. It looks better than the letter A showing up over my head, and all my combat droids are named sparky.

Yeah thatll work, and for the time being thats the only way to do it short of /saying "a". However, there is still the spatial spam issue and the overall issue of why there is no /tellpet command for droids. And my alt is a CH and my macro there is "/tellpet a" "a" being the command i taught the critter, so you dont have to use /tellpet attack, although in a macro who TF cares.

/tellpet works fine for me. I have a macro that starts my trusty R2 off, then kneels and fires a few specials.
