Thread: Strange AV-21 experimentation

Just made an AV-21 with 999 SR ferrous and 890 SR non-ferrous, which usually yield 97% with no failures.
But this time I got only 88%. I'm pretty sure that I used these resources, cos there was nothing else in my inventory.
Even after assemly phase, just before the experimentation, it was at 25%, which usually is 27% or 28% with the exact same resources.
Assembly phase was amazing success, all the experimentations are great or amazing. no moderate or failures..
My crafting tool is 15, and the station is 45 btw.
I just didn't understand what the problem could be and madetwo X34s, which uses the exact same resources except the powerplant.
And i hit 97% with both X34s.
Just wondering if anybody else had the same issue..

I have had this too a few times. It is a crafting bug, or a partial failure. You do get to craft the item, but the start values are lower. I have had this several times, and this is a confirmed crafting bug I believe. (I have had 2 crit. Failures with crafting AV-21's, so be lucky it wasn't that)

Thanks for the replies first of all..
Well, lower starting values are due to lower than great success in assembly. But getting a lower than normal value with an amazing success at the assembly phase is kinda strange.
And strangeness continues...
After a couple of hours later, managed to get another powerplant and tried to make another AV-21.
This time I got amazing success again, but it was 29% with the exact same resources, a bit higher than normal. Kept experimenting over this 29% and managed to hit 99% with the speeder, which is more unlikely, because with those resources iwouldn't expect to hit more than 97%..
3125 ferrous w/ SR 999 = 3121875
1125 non-ferrouse w/ SR 890 = 1001250
Total = 4123125
Average SR = 4123150 / 4250 = 970.15
which means 97% is the expected max value in my understanding and observations..
But howdid I hit 99%? no idea to be honest..
It may be a bug, or getting an amazing success in the assembly phase may allow to go out of bounds sometimes..
Anyway, i'll keep using the cake for my assemblies from now on, since it helps to get better assembly rolls and try to figure this thing out.
Any additional idea would be greatly appreciated and thanks for your time.

That is pretty weird. The first case could be due to experimentation or crafting success, but the second...?
I also made an AV-21 this weekend, using exact same SR materials (Diva and Ditakosis on Chilastra).
The crafting stage came out to 28%, as hoped for. I experimented three times; after the first was 67% (expected), the second was 96% and the last point gave me the 97%.
Wish I had a 99%'er!

I'm on Chilastra too, and they're the resources that I use.. Ditokakis and Diva.
Made a couple of AV-21s before with these resources and 97 was what I get when everything went ok.
99 is really strange and I'll keep working on it to see if I can generate the same thing again.

The only thing I can think of to ask is, are you absolutly possative that you chose to experiment the second time and did not stop experimenting after the first time? This is probably not the case because 25% after assembly for SR that high is not right at all.
