ok so I have been starting my whole SWG experiance, on becoming a Master Architect, through Master Artisan.. and Adding a Merchant to it... So I thought to myself, "Myself .. where can I get some good advice and help to become ...."
and So I thought.. Ta-Da use the forums
.. and so I did.. and Do
.. and now after having played for close to 3 weeks..
I'm still NOT MA yet.. and you know what.. I really dont care.. cos I belive in having fun getting to my destination
So I have become Scout and Carbineer too.. just to survive, and A REB Officer .. lol
Like I would need that as a MA..
but anyway my point ..and Question is to all of you .. MA..AS ect...
Why are you all, or allmost all, so concerned whit .. HOW FAST CAN A GRIND .. this and that.. Are you in a hurry to get somewhere ?? or to be something so fast you forget to PLAY the game ???
What does then Happen when you have Grinded your way to Master "what-Not" in 1 hr- 1½hr ?? then what.. ???
Did you have fun .... did you play the game with friends ??? or what !?
I mean absolutly NO Disrespect with this post or intend to step on any toes...
This is simply my thoughts ?!
What are yours ??
I still look forward to becomming an MA/MA/MM .. But I have signed up to play for at least 3 months.. So why hurry ??!!
I'm easily distracted, but my Guild mates to go do something other than "Grinding" my way to MA/MA/MM.. just for the fun
and pleasure of helping them do something
Ohh well I stop my ranting.. just my thoughts.. use them or Flame them if you like
/Highest Regards

Well im a Master Artisan, but you already knew that, didnt you Rici? but i ground the first 3 boxes of engineering, in order to get to what i wanted to really play with. Harvesters, and experimenting on them, i just wanted to experiment and get some visible and decent results, after that i just played around with stuff, experimenting and fiddling, thats what made my artisan crafting fun, i several tons of BER 9 wind gens (sold em for 6k each) then played about with harvs to make some BER 4 ones, sold them off as well, by now i had enough exp to learn engineering 4, as well as Domestic Arts 1,2 and 3. more fiddling to be done, crafted some prototype clothes, sold themn off for 500 creds each, then i learnt merchant, started selling stuff from my vendors, soon i had learnt everything without just grinding, id had fun! the only one i really had to grind was surveying 3 and 4 and Engineering 1,2 and 3.
im hoping shipwright will be the same for me, as long as its fun to do i feel no need to grind it!
anyway, i reccomend you enjoy it, not grind it
Good luck!

I ground out artisan because most of artisan, IMO, is really boring. Surveying I ground, but mainly that was to get resources, not because I wanted to max the tree. Bit of a sideffect. I ground my way to engineering 4, then ground out harvs until I mastered. Which is when, IMO, the fun began. Now I can make bikes (my main interest the whole time) and various other cool components that other profs want. I also used the great xp from building vehicles to push my way into the elite professions (architect so far). This last part I didn't grind... I was just hand crafting my wonderful 70% bikes (hehe) and happened to hit the xp needed.
Anyway....I grind professions to master, because I think they become the most fun and rewarding after you've mastered them. Same goes for master rifleman (mastered and gave it up) and teras kasi master (mastered it, still master).

Which brings up the next question.. has anyone actually confirmed what good an artisan will be in the expansion?
is it going to be worth keeping master artisan or should i just pick up droid engineering or maybe go totally the other way and get Bio-Engineer?
I keep hoping artisan will get something worthwhile, i like making bikes.. but when it comes to making money.. the only thing i really make a constant flow of cash on
is repair tools and control units via special order.
