I have a charector on starsider (novice rilfeman), and have been playing fro about a week now. I wanted to amke a crafter to see what it was like, and make some stuff. So i made a human on ahazi and am novice artisan. When i get on i relize i dont know anything about artisain or any of it. Any help on what i can do? I dont know anythign at all. From the metals to what i can and how i make things. Any help?

Use Surveying to find good concentrations of metal wherever you are (you're new enough it doesn't matter how good they are). Sample for them. Get some chemical too. Try things, see what you end up with. Oh, and do the green droid quests for all professions, which you should pick up. They give you a bit of money too...

The artisan ones in particular will give you the skinny on how surveying works, and the basics of crafting. Also, read the stickies at the top of this page. It'll teach you alot that the Green Can droid won't.
