On my alt, i mastered artisan. I was thinking about going for weaponsmith and merchant at first, but to widen my choices i asked around on the server and spoke with various people about thier professions. I mainly wanna make money, thats what its all about isnt it? getting rich and having fun. I mainly would perfer a template that makes money of course, but at the same time, isnt too easy and isnt too hard. I realise that a crafting profession takes patience and pays well eventually and i can live with that because i can be VERY determined as i used to play EQ for 4 years back when it first came out (old-school EQ), heh i mastered TKM (from unarmed 4) on my main toon in about 15 hours straight non-stop grinding.

Now i wanted to be an armorsmith or weaponsmith at first but now that i think of how much traffic they *may* have i'm thinking about Chef/BE because people need drinks and stuff all the time, more often than a high quality pistol or a suit of armor. Sure the drinks sell for less and people buy them by the bulk to stock up on good stuff, but that high quality pistol or suit of armor will cost more in the end. Whats more profitable? easier to maintain? more rewarding? i realise all the professions require harvesting which isnt much of a problem for me since i'll be able to slap down at least 20 lots. I'm just looking for some advice and insight on people who have "been there done that" and i can try to make a better educated decision on what i wanna do in the end.

Please feel free to suggest and give past experiences in your successes and failures i would like to learn as much as possible. Thankyou.

Weaponsmith is hard. In order to make really good weapons you need many named resources of very high quality. I've spent 10 hours surveying/mining/shopping for resources for every hour that I have spent making weapons. Had I know that it was this hard before I startedI would not have considered it. After almost three months of collecting resources I still don't have what I need to make really good weapons.

hmm, if you just wanna be rich then you had the right idea with your other character. get an elite combat profession and do janta missions. its not too hard and its not too easy. perfect.
