Thread: What am I doing wrong? Can't place extractors.
No matter what I try, I cannot use my deeds for the extractors I crafted. I've tried outside of 5 different cities on 3 planets. I'm at least 1KM away from the city and received the "you're leaving x city" long before I tried to place my extractor.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
Sorry if this is a double post, the first one appears to have been eaten by the ever-so-present forum monster.

You have to be way 1000+ away from a city.
Which is why I put in my message that I was 1KM (1,000 meters) away from the city.
Try going further and further just testing it, or find some other extractors and try placing it near them. If that doesnt work reboot, thats worked for me a few times when i got the "You can not place in your current state" message.
Okay, if it matters, I'm now trying this in Keren,Corellia (Naritus). I've gone over 1,000M from where I got the 'You're now leaving Keren" message and still can't place my extractor.
I can't find another extractor since the server population is still small enough that there wouldn't be many to find.
Adding to my frustration is seeing a bazillion extractors 180M outside of Theed on Eclipse.
I still get alternating messages of "Building not permitted here" and "You cannot placea structure in your current state".
Anyone? Please? I'm a novice architect and I hate to blow this char away.
"You can't place structure in current state." has to do with server lag. If you see that it means the server still thinks you are mobile. Just stand still for like 3-5 seconds and try again. This has fixed the problem for me every time when I get that error.

Which direction are you going? The "no-build" area for Keren seems to beHUGE to the West, but not that big to the North.
Okay, it was the no-build zone. I was able to place extractors in Theed where I saw them on Eclipse. What a stupid thing to have different build boundries around different cities w/o telling us where they are. I wasted a lot of time today trying to find anyplace to build.
Oh well, thanks for the help.
