I am a marksman who has recently started surveying/sampeling for some monetary support. I just recently got to Surveying II and was wondering several things:

1. Sampeling is a horribly unefficent (takeing forever!). is there any faster/more effecent way to gathering resorces?

2. What skill tree do i need to master to be able to build my own harvester/extracter.

3. What metal qualities should i look for so that my metals will be nice and expensive. and what type are perticullary desired by crafters??

4. Those +surveying results that I got for surveying I and II, do they apply when i use a harvester?

any other usefulll info will be awsome! thanks~!

1. No - you just have to get improved Surveying skills and then you get more per sample and more successes.

2. Engineering III and IV let you build harvesters. Mineral harvesters are at III and chemical are at IV.

3. Dunno. Still trying to figure out that one myself. I can tell you that I have sold steel, 200 units, on the bazaar for 1000 credits a couple of times.

4. Harvesters (i believe) are not modifyed by your Surveying skill

Hope it helps. -Justin

Re: Number three

The resources all have between 1 - 10 qualities, in various proportions, such as Steel #1 might have a quality of 560 and Steel #2 a quality of 819.

When crafting, you are told what qualities have what effect(s) on the device you are creating. (Such at Quality is 66% of the effectivness of the device, and Toughness is 34%)

There can be two or more ways the resource qualities can affect the device you're making.

Devices can take between 2 - at least six resources.

That's the VERY simplified view. It's actually a bit more complicated than that.

Why all that info? To show that it's very difficult to pick what resource is the 'best'.

Ask your local crafter what they are looking for. I'd think that's the best way.
