Artisan Archive

Can anyone please explain to me in detail how experimentation works? Where do I set what gets experimented on? Do I have to be a certain level of artisan to do it?

You need to have at least Engineering I. You then need to craft a specific crafting device such as a Weapons, Droid, whatever crafting device. Then with that specific device, you need to have that crafting station selected in town and be right up next to it. Then experimentation will appear.
