Thread: Maximum listing price on the bazaar: what's the deal?

I tried listing a harvester the other day for over 3000 (it was well experimented) and the bazaar wouldn't let me. Is this based on some "value of the item" calculation, or is it a hard limit for all items? Do I need to get business skill or something to list things for more? When I start selling houses I'm gonna want a bit more than 3K for them

Apparently that is the limit on the Bazaar. I've read the reason is so that players make vendors for items.

Ahh right, I remember now. Ok, so what skill box makes a vendor?

For you the limit is 3000. If you have a big item you need to go find your friendly local merchant and work out a deal with him. Player Merchants can put things on the bazzar for alot more than 3000 and can stock items on their vendors.

So business skill does allow you to sell stuff for more than 3000? I thought it didn't. Anyone have a list of the limits at various skill levels? I'll probably get a box or two of business if it will help, since I plan to sell a lot of buildings

Philly my boy of course you can sell for over 3k, that’s the point of playing a merchant.

They can sell high priced stuff on the bazaar from their vendors. I’m not sure if it starts in the business skill or once you reach the merchant tree.

So who makes vendors?

I checked the business skill boxes last night. They have things like reduced listing fees, but nothing indicating you could list something for more than 3K directly on the bazaar. I assume then that you do need a vendor to do this.

So, I need to know who can make a vendor for me.

Merchants can hire vendors. However, I assume that they can not hire them out to other players.

Merchant. Not the skill tree part of Artisan, but a full blown Merchant profession.

Tho if you browse the Merchant board, you'll find they have some issues.

I thought it was premium Auctions that let you break the 3k limit. Any confirmation?

I'm pretty sure premium auctions just list YOUR item first before non-premium auctions. This will be useful only when there is a glut of high priced items on the market since it costs 100 creds to place a premium auction. Apparently it's broke right now though.

FYI, if you have something that USUALLY sells above 3000, and you are on Gorath server, send a /tell to Jobarra (that's me) and we can work something out for placing your items in my shopSouthEast ofCoronet City, Corellia. My vendor allows me to place something priced at 99,999,999.
